Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool latest PLUS Premier League gossip and done deals

Manchester United are to become the latest team to swoop for John Stones, according to ESPN.
They say that club sources claim that the Red Devils will turn their attention to Stones as they look to secure a top quality centre-back for the coming season.
  • Chelsea were thought to be firm favourites to sign the Everton defender, but Old Trafford bosses are hopeful an offer of Johnny Evans plus cash will get the deal done.

Chicharito to stay?

Manchester United have ruled out the departure of Javier Hernandez this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
United’s lack of strikers is fast becoming a concern for manager Louis van Gaal and he is set to keep faith with his current front man than bring in a new name.
The Mexican did not feature in Van Gaal’s plans last season and ended up spending a year on loan at Real Madrid.
It now appears that Hernandez will be United’s second choice striker following the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

Ramos saga end in sight

Sergio Ramos will sign his new contract on Monday, according to the front page of today’s Marca.
The Spain defender has agreed an extension to his current deal that will see him earn €10million a year until its expiry in 2020.
As of yet, he hasn’t put pen to paper but will do so, it seems, at the beginning of next week to signal that he will end his career at the Bernabeu.
After Ramos signs on the dotted line, Pepe is next in line to pen a renewal with the Spanish giants.

Juve got to be kidding

One in, one out at Juventus Stadium today, the imaginatively-named home of the Italian champions.
Fernando Llorente, he of the lion hair and rangy legs, is set to join Europa League holders Sevilla for a bargain fee of around £3million (Premier League clubs, where were you?!) while the deal to sign Julian Draxler from Schalke is edging closer.
Guilherme Siqueira’s signing is already done, Tuttosport claim.

Why has nobody bought Michu?

Garry Monk has admitted he is surprised fallen Swansea City star Michu’s future remains in limbo – but insisted it was his choice to quit the club last year.
And Monk maintained the club has moved on since the Spaniard’s decision to look for a way out 12 months ago which has now left him still trying to thrash out a Liberty exit, reports Wales Online.
Swansea are keen to off-load high-earning Michu from their wage bill having made it clear he is not part of current plans despite having a year left to run on his contract, moves to Rayo Vallecano and Granad failing to materialise and Sevilla showing no interest after the 29-year-old was offered to the Uefa SuperCup runners up.

Now Monk has conceded a degree of surprise and sympathy that Michu is yet to find a new club for the new season as talks continue over his departure, though did repeat his revelation that it was Michu himself who initiated his exile.
“I am little surprised that nothing has happened yet. Michu is a good player.
“But these things happen and it was his choice to go to Napoli – he wasn’t forced out. It didn’t quite work out for him and the group have moved on and he has moved on as well.”

Fee agreed

QPR have agreed a deal with Bolton Wanderers for USA defender Tim Ream, according to Sky Sports News.
It’s understood to be around £1.4million, which seems like a bargain.
Meanwhile, Rangers are willing to drop their asking price for Charlie Austin to £13million - provided the transfer fee is paid in full.

So far, the England striker has been priced out of a move away from Loftus Road, because of relegated Rangers’ £15m price tag.
But when Newcastle made a fresh enquiry about signing the 26-year-old front man this week, they were told the price could be adjusted if Toon were willing to make a complete payment immediately.

Where for art thou, Romeu? (Answer: Hampshire)

Ronald Koeman is poised to sign Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has had a medical and agreed personal terms at Southampton.
He is expected to add further depth to the Saints midfield following the departures of Jack Cork to Swansea and Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United.
Romeu, a graduate of Barcelona’s famed youth system, was signed by Chelsea four years ago but failed to hold down a regular first-team place.
And when Jose Mourinho returned as manager two years ago, he was farmed out of on two season-long loans, first to Valencia in Spain and then to Germany’s Stuttgart.

Can Spurs bill Clinton?

Tottenham hope to make £12million Clinton N’Jie the newest member of their strike force before Stoke’s visit this weekend.
The north Londoners have agreed a deal with his French club Lyon worth £10m, with further payments of £2m based on appearances.
N’Jie, 21, is set to undergo a medical and agree personal terms over the next 48 hours.
He will join Harry Kane in a Spurs attack which could yet be further strengthened by Saido Berahino — despite West Brom’s insistence that the England Under-21 striker is not for sale.

The Baggies’ impressive £12m capture of frontman Salomon Rondon this week means they are now more likely to soften their stance on Berahino than they had been previously.
N’Jie scored eight times for Lyon in 33 games last season and six times in 11 games for Cameroon.
His arrival at Tottenham increases the influence of African players in the top flight. It also comes after an impressive opening weekend of the top flight campaign for the continent’s players.
Yaya Toure scoring twice for Manchester City on Monday meant that of the 30 goals in the Premier League’s opening round of fixtures, 10 were netted by Africans.

Sunderland looking to land Dembele

Sunderland still want Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele.
But Spurs remain adamant that they do not want to sell the Belgium star, who is rated at £15million.
Dembele, 28, became unsettled at White Hart Lane last season, as he started just 10 Premier League games. He made it clear that he wanted to play more regularly and was ready to move on in order to do so.
But he remains in the plans of boss Mauricio Pochettino and started last Saturday’s season-opening defeat at Manchester United.
Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has already signed defender Younes Kaboul from Spurs this summer.
Done deal!

Could Dzeko be Edin to Roma on a permanent deal?

Roma have confirmed the signing of Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko on a season-long loan deal.
The Serie A club will pay City €4million (£2.87m) for the season, and will then pay another €11m (£7.88m) to make the transfer permanent if certain conditions are met.
“I came here to win titles with Roma,” said Dzeko of his move. “I hope we will win many trophies but first we have to work hard on the field and in the end, we can get where we want.
“I can only promise you one thing: I will give my best to this team in every game. “

Things hotting up in Manchester

Manchester City want to beat Manchester United to £35million-rated defender Nicolas Otamendi, once they land Kevin De Bruyne.
City are ready hand 24-year-old De Bruyne a stunning six-year deal worth over £200,000-a-week to join them from Wolfsburg.
They have yet to agree a fee for the Belgian with his German club, after tabling a £47million bid on Monday. The Blues have so far refused to comment on the status of the offer.
De Bruyne, however, has made it clear he wants to move to the Etihad.
The former Chelsea attacking midfielder scored 16 goals in 49 appearances for Wolfsburg, but wants another crack at the English top flight after making just two Premier League starts for the Londoners in his two seasons.
City hope to land him by the weekend, and aim to then turn their attentions to 27-year-old Valencia star Otamendi.

The clock is ticking

The summer transfer window will soon be slamming shut on managers up and down the country looking to make early-season additions to their squad.
After a busy couple of months of fax machines purring, and cheques being signed (is that still a thing?) we’re just under three weeks from deadline day.
So who is your club going to sign?
Manchester United are still after a centre back, after months of talking about it, while Pedro could make a switch from Barcelona.
Chelsea continue to close in on Abdul Rahman Baba (mm by mm), while Arsene Wenger hasn’t ruled out more signings at Arsenal.
